Martin Dyer is an ordinary man with an ordinary life. As an insurance Loss Adjuster, he spends his time assessing other people’s problems and ignoring his own. When finances hit rock bottom, his wife leaves him for a loan shark one week before Christmas. Lost and in pain, Martin carries on. His day quickly goes from bad to worse with the help of a catalog of extraordinary encounters: A flirtatious and rather amorous widow, a corrupt Doctor, a lascivious female escort, and a dead rat.
