Unknown Heroes of WW2

Role: Composer

Director: Samuel Ackermann & Bernhard Stegmann

Production for SWR/ARD

Project description

This Unknown Heroes, directed by Samuel Ackermann and Bernhard Stegmann shines a light on the less documented events of rebellion against the nazi regime in the last weeks of World War II. It tells the story of a female uprising, protestant parish families hiding jews, and the prevention of a poison gas catastrophe.

The “main voice” of the score is the violin, played by Echo Klassik winner Yury Revich. While the score often reflects the gruesome darkness of this time, this single instrument inspires hope and courage and reminds the viewer of the light at the end of the tunnel.
