With his score for Super Reefs, composer Christian Heschl enlivens an already vibrant and compelling cinematic inquiry into the astonishing endurance of nature, and the urgency of protecting it. Orchestrated for brass, strings and synthesizers, Heschl’s soundtrack dives headlong into the action as the Pristine Seas team witnesses the rewarding and bittersweet moments of their examination of the reefs. In working with his small but robust arrangements, the composer boosts the film with his melodic core theme and his motifs for Sala and his cohorts.
